Lecture materials and educational activities relating to Kibbutz Galuyot and the Sigd holiday are available for teachers as a separate file. These materials can be used as part of the meeting itself or as follow‑up and preparation, depending on the needs of the class and the focus you choose.

Lecture: “Kibbutz Galuyot” – When Two Worlds Meet

“Kibbutz Galuyot” is a personal and deeply moving lecture that shares my life story and, from within, the story of Ethiopian Jewry, the journey of aliyah to Israel, and the path I myself have walked. Through the rich and sometimes complex meeting between different cultures, and through the ongoing questions of identity and belonging, I invite participants into a space where personal story and collective history meet.

Out of this journey grew the book The Wonderful Journey ("המסע המופלא"), which continues this inner and outer voyage on the page and opens a space for reflection: what happens when two worlds meet and a third world is created between them? How can the encounter between cultures become a source of growth, mutual enrichment, and new creative possibilities?

The lecture is intended for students, educational teams, communities, libraries, cultural centers, and the wider public – for anyone who is curious about questions of identity, belonging, and encounters between worlds. Both the content and the format of the meeting are adapted to the age of the participants, to the needs of the group, and to the character of the audience, so that every encounter becomes an open, sensitive, and respectful conversation.

“Kibbutz Galuyot” is especially relevant for educational and community programs around the Sigd holiday. It offers an opportunity to become acquainted with the roots of Ethiopian Judaism, to listen to a testimony told from within the community, and to broaden the way we see Israeli society and the different worlds that come together within it.

A set of lecture materials and activity pages relating to Kibbutz Galuyot and the Sigd holiday is available for teachers as a separate file. These resources can be used during the lecture itself or as complementary material, before or after the meeting, depending on the needs of the class and the content you choose to focus on.

The lecture can last up to an hour and a half, and its length is arranged in advance according to the audience and the hosting framework. To book the lecture, coordinate a meeting, and receive further details, you are warmly invited to contact me via my presentation website: dvorahyosef.com or by email at: dvorahyosef@gmail.com.
